From the Firstborn of Pharaoh to the Firstborn of the Maids

When Moshe warned Pharaoh about the tenth and final plague, that of the death of the firstborn, he said those affected would be “from the firstborn of Pharaoh to the firstborn of the maids, who sit behind the mill.”

The point was that from the greatest to the lowest, everyone responsible for harming the Jews would be taken to task.
