Even a Lowly Person is a Brother

The Yerushalmi (Brachos 9A) further states: “If a human being has a relative who is wealthy, he admits to it. (He is proud that he is a relative of a rich man.) If his relative is poor, he denies it. (He is embarrassed of him and pretends not to be related to him.) But Hashem is not like that. Even if Klal Yisroel is on the lowest level, He calls them His friends and brothers.”
